The General Law Amendment Act 62 of 1973 intends:

  • to amend:
    • the Public Health Act, 1919;
    • the Liquor Act, 1928 [repealed in 1977]; 
    • the Attorneys, Notaries and Conveyancers Admission Act, 1934 [repealed in 1979];
    • the Insolvency Act, 1936;
    • the Deeds Registries Act, 1937;
    • the Mines and Works Act, 1956;
    • the Interpretation Act, 1957;
    • the Prisons Act, 1959;
    • the Supreme Court Act, 1959 [repealed in 2013];
    • the Judges' Remuneration and Pensions Act, 1959 [repealed in 1975]; 
    • the Republic of South Africa Constitution Act, 1961 [repealed in 1994];
    • the Sorghum Beer Act, 1962 [repealed in 1996];
    • the Aviation Act, 1962 [repealed in 2010];
    • the Publications and Entertainments Act, 1963 [repealed in 1974];
    • the Liquor Amendment Act, 1963 [repealed in 1978];
    • the Coloured Persons Representative Council Act, 1964 [repealed in 1984];
    • the Indians Education Act, 1965;
    • the Agricultural Credit Act, 1966 [repealed in 2003];
    • the Atomic Energy Act, 1967 [repealed in 1982];
    • the South-West Africa Constitution Act, 1968 [repealed in 1994];
    • the University of the Western Cape Act, 1969 [repealed in 1984];
    • the Prescription Act, 1969;
    • the Black Affairs Administration Act, 1971 [repealed in 1986];
    • the National Roads Act, 1971 [repealed in 1998];
    • the Sectional Titles Act, 1971 [repealed in 1988]; and
    • the Sishen-Saldanha Bay Railway Construction Act, 1973 [repealed in 2011];
  • to repeal the Registration of Property in Deceased Estates Ordinance, 1957, and the Registration of Property in Deceased Estates Amendment Ordinance, 1961, both of South West Africa; 
  • to amend the Mines, Works and Minerals Ordinance, 1968, of South West Africa; and Proclamation No. 333 of 1949; and
  • to provide for incidental matters.
