The Social Service Professions Act (previously Social and Associated Workers Act) 110 of 1978 intends:
- to provide for the establishment of a Council for Social and Associated Workers and to define its powers and functions;
- for the registration of social and associated workers;
- for control over the profession of sodal work and associated professions; and
- for incidental matters.
