KwaZulu-Natal Arts and Culture commemorates Battle of Isandlwana, 25 Jan

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government will join His Majesty King Zwelithini in commemorating the Batttle of Isandlwana this Saturday, 25 January 2020. Although it has been 141 years since this battle between the Zulus and the English, it marks a watershed in South African history as the Zulus displayed courage and might in defeating the English who were technologically advanced at the time.

The significance of Isandlwana continues to resonate with all generations as it entrenches the importance of heritage, land issue, determination as well as courage. Provincial government has identified the Battle of Isandlwana as one of the platforms through which it advocates reconciliation and social cohesion. 

Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Mr Sihle Zikalala and MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation Ms Hlengiwe Mavimbela will attend the event.
