The Coloured Persons Education Act 47 of 1963 intends:
- to provide for the control of education for Coloured persons by the Department of Coloured Affairs,
- to amend:
- the Special Education Act, 1948 [repealed in 1967],
- the Vocational Education Act, 1955 [repealed in 1967], and
- the Republic of South Africa Constitution Act, 1961 [repealed in 1994], and
- to provide for matters incidental thereto.
Commencement
- 1 April 1964, all Sections, except Sections 30 and 31 in respect of the Provinces of the Orange Free State and Natal (Gazette 744 of 13 March 1964)
- 1 January 1964, all Sections, except Sections 30 and 31 in respect of the Provinces of the Cape of Good Hope and Transvaal (Gazette 652 of 15 November 1963)
- 1 July 1963, Sections 30 and 31 (Gazette 533 of 28 June 1963)
