Water and Environmental Affairs Deputy Minister Rejoice Mabudafhasi to handover the R8 million Greening Zamdela Project in Sasolburg

Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi, MP, the Water and Environmental Affairs will hand over the R8 million Greening Zamdela project to Metsimaholo Local Municipality on Wednesday, 26 March 2014 at Harry Gwala Multipurpose Centre, in Zamdela, Sasolburg.
 
The Greening Zamdela project funded by Rand Water Foundation aimed at implementing an integrated approach to planting, care, management of vegetation in the area, thus reducing pollution and increasing associated benefits such as reduced soil erosion, beautification of environment and increased surface infiltration through trees planting, landscaping and parks development.

This project has constructed a community park called Tailor Park which includes play equipment, recreational facilities, waterborne ablution facilities, beautiful landscaping and indigenous trees, and water connections. It has created 15 jobs for local communities and has supported more than 5 Small, Micro, Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) as well as local suppliers.

The official handover ceremony will be preceded by a walk about at the Tailor Park in Zamdela Ward 10, wherein the Deputy Minister will unveil the plaque.
