Department of Community Safety to launch K9 unit in Hermanus, Overstrand Municipality
On Friday, the Department of Community Safety, will launch the newly trained and deployed Overberg District K9 unit. The unit has been specifically trained to assist law enforcement operations in combating illicit narcotics and illegal poaching of marine resources.
The Department of Community Safety has provided funding for the unit to assist towards the implementation of safety plans in the region. Two units have already been deployed and launched in the City of Cape Town and West Coast municipalities respectively.
