Water and Sanitation conducts site inspection at Roodeplaat Dam in City of Tshwane, 25 Aug

The DWS will join the South African Human Rights Commission for a site inspection at the Roodeplaat Dam in the City of Tshwane following complaints of water and environmental pollution

The Department of Water and Sanitation will join the South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) during an inspection of the Roodeplaat Dam in the City of Tshwane.

This follows a complaint on the impact of raw or partially treated sewage discharged through the City of Tshwane’s treatment plants into the Pienaars River on drinking water supply to communities, animals and aquatic lives around Tshwane and other surrounding areas;

The Commission will conduct the inspection stemming from a complaint on the alleged impact of raw or partially treated sewage discharged through the City of Tshwane’s treatment plants into the Pienaars River on drinking water supply to communities, animals and aquatic lives around Tshwane and other surrounding areas.
