The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Reginah Mhaule, will host her Vietnamese counterpart, Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong, on the occasion of the 4th Partnership Forum between South Africa and Vietnam.
The objectives of the Partnership Forum are to:
- affirm the good relations that exist between South Africa and Vietnam;
- assess the progress achieved and challenges encountered since the 3rd Partnership Forum meeting held in Hanoi in June 2015;
- review the current areas of technical cooperation; and
- identify new areas for cooperation, and to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.
The relationship between South Africa and Vietnam goes back many years before the formal establishment of diplomatic relations in December 1993.
