Minister Angie Motshekga and United States Ambassador visit Slovoville Primary to hand over school-based hand-wash equipment

Basic Education Minister Mrs Angie Motshekga, accompanied by the United States Ambassador to South Africa, Ms Lana Marks, will tomorrow, Tuesday 01 December 2020 hand over school-based hand-wash equipment as part of the WASH project funded by United States Agency (USAID) in Slovoville, Roodepoort, west of Gauteng. 
 
The WASH project funds the construction of 150 community handwashing stations in Gauteng, North-West, Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. The project has since expanded in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to install wash and hygiene facilities at 80 schools in Mpumalanga, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Eastern Cape and Limpopo. 
 
Slovoville Primary School is one of the schools that have benefitted from this project. In addition, the school has also been participating in the Sexual HIV Prevention Programme supported by the USAID and the United States Office for Defense Cooperation (USODC).
