Public Service Commission hosts roundtable discussion, 28 Oct

On 28 October 2020, the Public Service Commission (PSC) will host a virtual roundtable discussion on the efficient, economic and effective use of resources in the procurement environment. 

The Virtual Roundtable will deliberate on the implementation of the constitutional principle of Efficient, Effective and Economic use of resources in the procurement space. Attention will also be drawn to the challenges experienced during COVID-19 within the procurement environment and the financial implications of these challenges on the fiscus.

Some of the key speakers at the event include the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Appropriations (SCOA), Mr S Buthelezi.  The Honorable Buthelezi will do the opening remarks whilst Ms Rakgadi Motseto, Chief Director: SCM Stakeholder and Client Management from the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer will make a presentation on the State of Procurement in the Public Service.

A panel discussion will reflect on the experiences related to Supply Chain Management in government to advance the Efficient, Economic and effective use of resources with a focus on the timeous payment of suppliers.
