Premier Willies Mchunu public engagement: “Our journey of building a stronger province is continuing”

Meeting with Auditor General Office – 26 July

Amanzimtoti: KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu has a scheduled meeting with the office of the Auditor General.

Mchunu remarked: “I will interact with the AG office on issues of financial management. As the Premier I am committed to maintaining a strong relationship with the Auditor General.”

“As government we are fully aware that, a clean bill of health not only attracts investors, but it also improves the public image of government. Some investors go as far as stating that financial information without an auditor’s report is ‘essentially worthless’ for investing purposes.”

Adams College Sod turning ceremony – 26 July

Adams Mission: KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu will join the President of the Republic of South African J.G Zuma and African Union Chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma during a sod-turning ceremony at Adams College at 10h00.

Mchunu remarked: “The construction of classrooms at Adams College will help improve results. I am encouraged by the enthusiasm that has been shown by the leadership of this country in ensuring the preservation of the legacy of this college.

More importantly, we note their commitment towards the provision of quality education to our learners.”

Release of Community Survey results – 26 July

Dube Trade Port: KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu will receive a Community Survey report from the Statistician General Pali Lehohla at the Dube Trade Port at 15h00.

Mchunu emphasised: “We have a strong working relationship with the SG. The reports from Stats SA provide the province with a mirror to reflect on the perceptions of citizens on service delivery. It indicates to us what needs to be done to reduce poverty and to improve our service delivery initiatives.”
