KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala will tomorrow, Thursday, 8th April 2021, deliver the eulogy at the Special Provincial Official Funeral of the late Dr Frank Themba Mdlalose, the first democratically elected Premier of the Province of KZN in 1994.
Dr Mdlalose passed away during the Easter weekend, passed after an illness.
A special service in his honour will take place at the St Andrew’s Cathedral in section 2, eMadadeni in Newcastle.
President Ramaphosa honoured Dr Frank Themba Mdlalose by granting him a Special Provincial Official Funeral Category 2.
This category entails ceremonial elements provided by the South African Police Services and lowering of the flags on the day of the funeral.
The funeral service will be broadcast live on all government online/ social media platforms to assist those who may not be able to physically attend the service due to the current COVID-19 lockdown level 1 regulations.
