National Youth Development Agency sends condolences on the passing of Dumi Masilela

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) expresses shock and dismay at the passing of former soccer player, singer and actor for Rhythm City, Dumi Masilela.

According to NYDA Executive Chairperson, Sifiso Mtsweni “The passing of Dumi Masilela has shocked all of us, as we were excited after receiving his confirmation to be part of our inaugural youth in the arts dialogue. We were looking forward to fruitful engagements with him”.

The NYDA today hosted a dialogue with youth in the arts as part of its Board’s Programme of Action (POA). This dialogue aimed at understanding the opportunities and challenges faced by youth within the arts, culture and heritage sector.

“We are shattered to lose such talent at the face of criminals who continue to rob society of its future. Performing arts continue to play a meaningful role and we must appreciate its positive influence in society. We send our sincere condolences to his wife, Simphiwe Ngema, family, friends and fans” added Mtsweni
