Youth Development Agency hosts Tshwane Young Women in Business and Leadership Empowerment seminar, 16 Sept

The fact that we have now passed the month of August which is Women’s Month, does not mean that we as a country need to stop mainstreaming and talking about issues affecting women as well as empower them in all areas of their lives.

As part of the continued celebrations of the Women’s March of 1956, the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) will host the annual Women in Business Empowerment Seminar to discuss challenges they face in entrepreneurship and leadership positions.

Topics of the day includes access to adequate business finance, access to business opportunities, mentorship, personal branding, health and wellness for women in business,  financial planning and striking a balance between family and business management. The panel discussions will be led by public and private sector experts.

This annual seminar also affords NYDA beneficiaries and other women entrepreneurs to showcase their work at an exhibition. About 30 women-owned businesses will be able to sell their products to the public and network with various public and private organisations taking part at the event. A total of 180 young women entrepreneurs are expected to take part in this event.

This year the seminar is convened under the theme: “1956 Women’s March – What are the Lessons for Young Women in Business & Leadership?”
