On Friday, 26 March 2021, the North West Provincial Legislature's Portfolio Committee on Premier, Finance, Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs chaired by Hon. Aaron Motswana will be conducing public hearings on the North West Appropriation Bill, 2021 in Delareyvill Municipal Hall; Klersdorp Recreation Hall; Tosca Community Hall and Koster Municipal Hall at 09h00.

The North West Appropriation Bill, 2021 aims to effect the appropriation of money from the Provincial Revenue Fund for the requirements of the Province in respect of the 2021/22 financial year; and to provide for matters incidental thereto.

Part of the Legislature's mandate is to promote public participation & oversight, therefore the bill intends to hear the voice of the community with regards to how funds should be allocated in the departments. This will be in the spirit of open democracy, transparency & accountability. The money appropriated by the Legislature to the government departments should be spent in terms of the Public Finance Management Act No 1 of 1999.

Members of the media are invited to attend the public hearings and can contact Namhla Luhabe on 079 527 0628 for further information.
