North West Legislature to Conduct Public Hearings on the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Amendment Bill 2015

On Tuesday, 22 May 2018, the North West Provincial Legislature’s  Portfolio Committee on Public Works, Roads and Transport and Community Safety will be conducting public hearings on the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Amendment Bill 2015 at Delareyville Community Hall and Chris Hani Community Hall in Tswelelang near Wolmaranstad at 10h00.

Amongst others, the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Amendment Bill 2015 aims to amend the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Act, 1998, so as to substitute and insert certain definitions; to improve the manner of serving documents to infringers; to add to the functions of the Road Traffic Infringement Authority and to repeal certain obsolete provisions.

The MEC for the  Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, MEC Dr. Mpho Motlhabane and senior management together with several stakeholders in the transport industry which include the South Africa Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (SATAWU); Provincial Taxi Association; scholar transport service providers; traffic licensing officials, students and legal experts from North West University and colleges and car rental and bus companies will attend the public hearings.
