Webinar on the Review of Economic Progress towards the NDP’s Vision for 2030: Recommendations for Course Correction

The National Planning Commission (NPC) will be hosting a webinar to discuss its recently released report - Review of Economic Progress towards the NDP’s Vision for 2030: Recommendations for Course Correction.

The NDP charts a course towards a decent sustainable life for all South Africans by 2030, with full employment, greater equality, and the elimination of poverty.

The NPC’s Economic Review considers progress in achieving these goals, and specifically implementation relative to the NDP’s proposals.

The Review focuses on top priority and cross-cutting areas such as education, infrastructure and investment, energy, digital enablement, the promotion of dynamic employment generating industries, public employment and performance, labour relations, fiscal sustainability and state capacity.

Recommendations are made to correct SA’s course towards a decent life and building a sustainable economy and employment opportunities post COVID-19 towards the NDP 2030 vision.

The review of economic progress is available via: https://www.nationalplanningcommission.org.za/Publications_Reports

The session will be chaired by Commissioner Mr. Elias Masilela accompanied by a presentation on NPC assessment of Economic Progress and recommendations for course correction by Commissioner Miriam Altman.
