Minister Senzeni Zokwana rolls out model for Regional World Food Day to Namibia

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Senzeni Zokwana will roll out the  Regional World Food Day Model in Namibia today in Bunya Village, Kapako Constituency in Kavango West Region. This follows the approval by SADC committee of Ministers of Agriculture during the meeting held in Ezulwini, Eswatini in May 2017 for countries designated as Chair of SADC to set the agenda during their SADC chairship. South Africa, as an adept host for over 15 years will be handing over the baton to Namibia as the current Chair of  SADC.

As part of rolling out to Namibia, South Africa will share the Model that has been used by South Africa as a legacy project. The Minister adopts food insecure households and agricultural projects for further support (agricultural inputs, markets and training) post the event to promote agriculture as a sustainable way of making a living. The World Food Day will be observed under the theme,  “Our actions are our future. # A Zero Hunger World by 2030 is possible”.
