Minister Nathi Mthethwa to host community Imbizo as part of the BRICS Summit Outreach Programme
Arts and Culture Minister, Mr Nathi Mthethwa will on Friday, 13 July 2018 conduct a special Imbizo at Ga-Morwe community Hall, Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga Province as part of BRICS Summit outreach programme.
During the Imbizo, the Minister will brief the community of Ga-Morwe especially the youth within the Arts, Culture and Heritage Sector about the up-coming BRICS Summit, BRICS Film Festival, and BRICS Heritage Exhibition. This initiative forms part of the Government’s mandate to all departments to hold similar occasions across the country in order to sensitize communities about the BRICS activities that will be taking place in the country. The overall programme of the summit will also be outlined.
The Imbizo will also provide a platform for the community especially the youth to share and discuss their concerns; and to engage with the department on opportunities available in the creative sector as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation of arts, culture and heritage programmes.
