Minister Edna Molewa to address Women’s Month events and the inauguration ceremony    

The Minister of Environmental Affairs and Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University Chancellor, Dr Edna Molewa will address two Women’s Month events at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) and the University of the Witwatersrand’s 3rd Annual Women Breakfast on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

In addition, Minister Molewa will also address the inauguration of the Vaal University Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor & Principal.

The Phenomenal Women 2017 event, organised by the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU), aims is to encourage all female students at SMU and surrounding communities to be the best that they can be, but equally, as mothers of the nation, to be bold enough to take on the reigns of leadership and understand the importance of leading within their homes, communities and ultimately, their country.

At the Phenomenal Women 2017 event, Minister Molewa will be joined by three other female speakers, namely: Dr Nono Simelela - First Black Female Gynaecologist in SA, and Special Adviser to the Deputy President of South Africa; Mmabatho Montsho - Film maker, Actress, TV Personality; and Rapelang Rabanna - Entrepreneur, Founder of Rekindle Learning, World Economic Forum's "Young Leader 2017".

The 3rd Annual Women’s Day breakfast convened by the University of the Witwatersrand is a platform for women to network and reflect on various issues such as: “Women in Governance: Participation of Women in a Democratic Government; “Women in Academics: Transformation and Inclusion of Women Within the Academic Space”; and ”Women in Business- Becoming the Ultimate Champion.”
