Minister Blade Nzimande visits Pietermaritzburg – Edendale Vaccine Distribution Centre as part of government’s quality control and monitoring, 22 Feb

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, will today, 22nd February 2021, visit the Pietermaritzburg Edendale vaccine Distribution Centre as part of the government’s quality control and monitoring to ensure efficiency in vaccine warehousing, distribution and deliveries.

Government has identified specific facilities for the preservation and security of the vaccines.

Phase 1 will see health workers vaccinated, the second phase includes essential front-line workers and people aged over 60, and the third phase is the general public.

Minister Nzimande will be accompanied by senior government officials of the Department of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Department of Health and the Msunduzi Local Municipality.
