Premier Mchunu and MEC Zikalala meet with provincial captains of industry
The MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Sihle Zikalala, will meet with key business players from throughout the province at the annual KwaZulu-Natal Growth Coalition breakfast, a session that serves as a platform for robust engagement between government and the business community on issues relating to fostering economic growth in the province.
The engagement session, to be also addressed by the Premier, Honourable Willies Mchunu, will be attended by influential business stakeholders who will discuss, among other matters, the acceleration of radical economic transformation, employment creation as well as challenges encountered by the business community.
As the second largest contributor to South Africa’s GDP – after Gauteng –KwaZulu-Natal is a vital cog to the national economy.
The KZN Growth Coalition was set up in the year 2000 to promote engagement between government and business on the province’s developmental imperatives.
The Coalition is chaired by the Acting Premier of the province, Sihle Zikalala, in his capacity as the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs and the leader of government business.
