On Friday, 7 April 2017 (tomorrow), the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affair, Mr Sihle Zikalala will be engaging with members of the business community especially from the hospitality sector that contributes billions of rand to the economy of the province. The gathering will serve as a platform for the MEC and the stakeholders to exchange ideas on how best this strategic industry could be positioned to generate more business and employment opportunities, while also playing a role as an active vehicle to accelerate economic transformation in the province.
As our partner in the process of developing and empowering our communities, you are cordially invited to witness this interactive session that confirms the existing partnership between the Provincial Government of KwaZulu-Natal and members of the business fraternity in sectors of the economy.
“We are grateful for the opportunity we have been accorded to engage with this important sector which is a critical pillar for our tourism sector. Business Events or the realm of meetings, incentives, exhibitions and congresses/conferences are one of the most important catalysts for socio-economic change in particular. In the case of KwaZulu-Natal this sector generates at least R4 billion per annum and sustains some 32,000 jobs per year,” said Mr Zikalala.
Moreover, the meeting comes just two weeks before Mr Zikalala tables his 2017/2018 Budget Policy Speech in the Provincial Legislature hence it would also provide the scope for the industry practitioners to share with the MEC their business expectations for this year.
Details for the event are as follows:
Date: Friday, 7 April 2017
