MEC Jacob Mamabolo conveys condolences to Ngubane family

MEC Mamabolo shocked by the untimely death of Nanduwe Chairperson, Ngubane

Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport (DRT) MEC Mr Jacob Mamabolo has sent his condolences to the Ngubane family following the passing of Nancefield Dube West Taxi Association (NANDUWE) Chairperson, Mr Alfred Vusokwakhe Ngubane yesterday, 08 July 2019.

“He played a critical role in the drafting an agreement and negotiations that ultimately brought great relief to the people of Soweto with the reopening of taxi ranks and routes on the 15 June this year,” said MEC Mamabolo.

The MEC described Ngubane as a humble leader who was committed to peace in the taxi industry, adding that his colleagues in the minibus taxi industry could carry forward his legacy by recommitting themselves to a peaceful and transformed sector.

“Our thoughts are with the Ngubane family, his friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” Mamabolo said.

Ngubane died in the early hours of Monday, 08 July 2019, following a short illness.
