KZN MEC for Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation, Mec Bongi Sithole –Moloi to host consultative session with leaders in the culture and creative arts industry

The MEC for Arts and Culture, Sports and Recreation Bongi Sithole–Moloi says: “Government remains committed to using culture and creative arts industry as to fight poverty, create employment, grow the economy of this province and most importantly strengthen our resolve towards a social cohesion.”

The MEC has accordingly convened a consultative meeting with stakeholders in the culture and creative arts industry scheduled to take place this Thursday, 26th January 2017. The first of its kind since the MEC assumed office, this is pivotal platform for frank discussions for the advancement of the creative industry in this province

The meeting starts at 09h30 and will be followed by a media briefing scheduled as follows:-

Venue: Public Service Training Academy at 321 ZK Mathew Road, Glenwood Durban.

“As part of the department’s newly adopted vision strategy to reposition and re-engineer the focus on our programmes, I have decided to undertake a series of consultative engagements with various strategic stakeholders within the Creative Arts, Culture and Heritage sectors with an expressed objective to share our vision and our programmes as well as to solicit sector inputs ahead of the commencement of the 2017/18 financial year,” MEC Sithole-Moloi concluded.
