Premier Job Mokgoro opens Ventersdorp Weighbridge, 24 Oct

Premier Mokgoro to officially open new Ventersdorp Weighbridge and interact with Ventersdorp community on issues raised

North West Premier Professor Job Mokgoro will tomorrow, Wednesday 24 October, lead the official opening of a newly built Ventersdorp Weighbridge, this in line with his 100 days in office programme of handing over completed infrastructure projects to the beneficiaries across the province.

The official opening of the Ventersdorp Weighbridge which was built at a cost of R11 million, coincides with October Transport month activities aimed at further advancing government’s road safety initiatives and creating awareness about the economic benefits of the sector.

The Weighbridge which is located along the N14 road between Ventersdorp to Krugersdorp is equipped with a multi-deck scale to weigh heavy motor vehicles.

Through this weighbridge that connects the North West and Gauteng Provinces, overloaded trucks will be intercepted before entering or leaving the Province.

Premier Mokgoro who will be accompanied by the MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Dr Mpho Motlhabane, will use this opportunity to interact with the Ventersdorp community leaders and affected stakeholders on progress registered in addressing issues raised by the community of Ventersdorp, this also in line with his ongoing engagements with different stakeholders across the province since his appointment as Premier.
