Gauteng Transport holds public hearings on Commission of Inquiry into taxi violence, 29 Sept

The Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence continues

The public hearings of the Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence in the Gauteng province will continue on Tuesday, 29 September 2020 at 09:00.

The testimony will be presented by Deputy Chief of Police Operations, Mr Goodman Mzolo from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan. 

Mr Mzolo testimony will include, but not be limited to:

The underlying reasons for the recurring Taxi conflicts;
Nature and patterns such conflicts;
Measures in place to deal with Taxi conflicts; and 
Capacity of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) to curb with Taxi conflicts.

The legal team is in the process of identifying and/or consulting with other witnesses who will appear before the Commission over the next few weeks.
