The Gauteng Geographical Names Committee (GGNC) continues to receive and deal with increasing number of applications and proposals for naming and renaming of various (geographical) features including streets, buildings etc.
In its last quarterly meeting of the year, happening this week from Thursday to Friday, the Committee will look to find ways of dealing and handling more of the applications at its disposal.
Following the recent local elections, the Committee is also looking forward to working closely with the newly elected councils, to provide support and advisory role on matters regarding the naming of geographical features.
