The Deputy Minister of State Security, Mr. Zizi Kodwa, will on Saturday, the 24th April 2021 attend a netball league tournament in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) kwaZakhele, to handover a netball kit to an underprivileged New Brighton netball team (New Brighton Academy).
The donation is a response by the Deputy Minister to a request made by the team during his previous visit to the area. The Deputy Minister says these visits seek to encourage the youth of Gqeberha and the country as a whole to engage in sporting activities to promote the goals of social cohesion but also to keep the youth away from the temptations of criminal activities.
“This program is part of mobilizing communities against crime and substance abuse using sport” he said.
