Premier Willies Mchunu sends condolences to Ncwane family

Death of Sfiso Ncwane – pain is immeasurable

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu and the entire executive council join millions of people across the country in paying condolences to the Ncwane family following the untimely passing on of Sfiso Ncwane.

Mchunu remarked with sadness. “Hours after we received the news of the passing away of Ncwane, we are still in deep shock. The pain is immeasurable across the province and the country as a whole.”

“The MEC for Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation Bongi Sithole-Moloi is already keeping in touch with the family during this difficult period and she is making arrangements to visit the family tomorrow in the afternoon.”

“The MEC will be representing the provincial government and report back to the meeting of the Executive Council scheduled for Wednesday. Ncwane was a gifted musician who left an indelible mark in the country and represented this province with distinction both as a musician and as an ambassador for road safety campaigns.”

“What saddens us is that Ncwane was part of the Crown Gospel Awards and was in his usual jovial mood. Over the years, he scooped the Crown Gospel Awards - in the process helped generate a great deal of interests from national and international music fans.”

“Critically, Ncwane was a symbol of hope to many aspiring gospel singers, a genre which has grown in leaps and bounds in terms of popularity and inspiration in recent times.”

“His untimely death, has inflicted an irreparable damage in the hearts of the people of KwaZulu-Natal and the country as a whole. We are calling upon the people of KwaZulu-Natal to pray for the wife and the kids during this time of mourning. We hope the family will amass enough strength and courage to deal with this sad loss.”

Media to note: Details of the visit to the family by the MEC for Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation Bongi Sithole-Moloi is scheduled for tomorrow at 17h00. Other details of the visit by members of the executive council will be announced once all logistics have been finalised.
