Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries commemorates World Fisheries Day, 20 Nov

DAFF launches World Fisheries Day on Monday 20 November 2017

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) invites all media to the World Fisheries Day event on 20 November 2017 in Saldanha Bay.

The aim of the media tour is to showcase existing and future aquaculture developments in Saldanha Bay and Langebaan. The Minister and the Deputy Minister will accompany journalists on a boat tour to the inner and outer bay to showcase mussel, oyster and ocean trout aquaculture projects that are currently underway, as part of the Operation Phakisa initiative.

World Fisheries day is celebrated every year on November 21 throughout the world by fishing communities.
