South African Social Security Agency payment model roundtable with international experts

South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and the Minister of Social Development, Minister Bathabile Dlamini invite you to a roundtable discussion with international stakeholders in the field of social security administration to be held as follows.

The press will be able to attend the first session of the roundtable discussion from 09h00 till 12h00 after which a press briefing will be conducted from 12h00 to 13h00.

The purpose of the discussions is to provide a platform for the Ministerial Advisory Committee appointed in 2013 to develop the best options of how SASSA will carry out the task of becoming a paymaster of grants as from 2017. Currently the function of paying grants is outsourced to Cash Paymaster Services (CPS) who won the tender in 2012.

The Minister will be accompanied by the EU Ambassador, Mr Roeland van der Geer, the CEO of SASSA, Ms Virginia Petersen and Dr Makhosi Khoza the chairperson of the Ministerial Advisory Committee.

The roundtable discussion will be facilitated by a panel of experts in the fields of social security administration, finance, ICT, biometrics etc from countries like Netherlands, Portugal, Cameroon, UK and Belgium among others. Issued on behalf of SASSA.
