124 of 1998

The Postal Services Act 124 of 1998 intends:

  • to make new provision for the regulation of postal services;
  • for the operational functions of the postal company, including its universal service obligations;
  • for structural matters relating to postal services as well as the operation of the Postbank and National Savings Certificates; and
  • to consolidate certain provisions relating to the postal company and amend or repeal others; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.

Commencement

  • 1 January 1999, Sections 1 to 14, 46, 59, 82, 84, 85 and 86: (Gazette 19653 of 31 December 1998)
  • 1 April 2000, remainder of Act
