The Wine and Spirit Control Amendment Act 25 of 1998 intends:
- to amend the Wine and Spirit Control Act, 1970, so as
- to insert and to delete certain definitions;
- to authorise the utilisation of the research levy for additional purposes;
- to provide for the control and management of the wine and spirit industry during a transitional phase;
- to establish a management authority;
- to authorise the designation of assignees to enforce and administer that Act or certain provisions thereof;
- to make certain textual alterations; and
- to provide for the lapsing of that Act at the end of the transitional phase; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
