Youth Development Agency on second chance for unsuccessful 2015 matrics

Second chance still open for failed matrics

Learners who failed matric between 2012 and 2014 are encouraged to apply for the National Youth Development Agency’s National Senior Certificate 2nd Chance Rewrite programme. The NYDA in partnership with the Education Training Development Practitioner Sector Education Training Authority have been implementing the NSC 2nd Chance Rewrite programme since 2011. The programme is aimed at affording young people who have failed matric, a second chance to obtain their National Senior Certificate.

The programmes is this year rolling out across the nine provinces. To be eligible to participate in the programme, learners must have failed either, Physical Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Life Sciences and English, and must have scored above 25% in each subject. The closing date for applications is 20 February 2015.
