The Department of Transport wishes to alert motorists of a temporary road closure – N3 south bound to Durban. Traffic is being diverted to the old road (used for comrades' marathon).
The road closure follows a head on collision on the N3 south bound near Ashburton about an hour ago. It is alleged that the driver of light motor vehicle (travelling north) lost control and collided head on with the truck travelling south. Emergency personnel are on the scene. Preliminary information suggests that at least one person is dead. Another motorist is said to be badly injured.
