The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education would like to thank the National Department of Basic Education for a very successful week long workshop on National Training for CAPS which took place from Monday until Friday last week.
This workshop which was held at the Ice Rink Conference Centre in Durban was aimed at training and capacitating all Senior Phase Subject Advisors and preparing the system for implementation of Senior Phase and Grade 12 in 2014. The main focus was on CAPS and looking at what kind of support advisors need.
“The Training was very hands on and very interactive. Subject Advisors also learnt a lot from one another and are ready to train teachers for implementation in 2014. The workshop is going to impact positively on the confidence levels of both the District Officials and the teachers,” said one of the coordinators.
