To improve service delivery and provide quality education, the KZN Department of Education completed a mammoth restructuring exercise that will see three service centers being integrated into the 12 districts in the province.
The districts are now delegated to deliver on financial and human resource functions to efficiently empower schools to become centers of excellence.
In early July a road-show visit will be undertaken by the MEC for Education, Mr ES Mchunu with the Head of Education, Nkosinathi SP Sishi and members of Top Management. The focus will be to strengthen and support the 12 District Offices who would be responsible and accountable for underperforming schools in the province.
Meanwhile, an inspection in-loco by the HOD, Nkosinathi, SP Sishi (PhD) at winter school classes around the province has yielded huge success with excellent turn-out by educators and learners who are serious about education just as the Department is about improving the quality of education and the matric pass rate.
