KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr Willies Mchunu has warned motorists to practice caution when driving in this bad weather. The province of KwaZulu-Natal is experiencing snow and heavy rain and some roads are closed down due to the snow covering the road.
“There have been reports of snow and heavy rain in some parts of the province causing major roads to be closed. I urge all motorists to stay clear of parts where there is snow until the situation is back to normal. Please drive with caution by keeping a safe following distance and being visible by turning headlights on. This weather is likely to persist throughout the week and all motorists are urged to ensure that vehicles are in a roadworthy state before undertaking any trips,” said Mchunu. Affected roads are;
In Dundee before Fort Mistake, R103 Nottingham Road, R34 Memel, N11 Amajuba and N11 are some of the major roads that are reported to be closed.
