Premier Sihle Zikalala sends condolences on the passing of seasoned journalist, Mr Xolani Gwala
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Mr Sihle Zikakala has offered his condolences to the family and friends of highly respected journalist Mr Xolani Gwala who passed away earlier today.
Mr Gwala, who originally hails from KwaZulu-Natal’s Impendle outside Pietermaritzburg, had an illustrious career in the broadcast industry spanning nearly two decades.
Gwala, who was also affectionately known as Bra X, was one of the most influential media personalities in South Africa. He worked for Ukhozi FM and P4 radio (now Gagasi FM) in KwaZulu-Natal before moving to Johannesburg where he worked for SABC and Radio 702.
“On behalf of the provincial government and all the people of KwaZulu-Natal, we would like to convey our deepest condolences to the Gwala family for the loss of their loved one. KwaZulu-Natal is proud of the immense contribution made by Mr Gwala to the South African media industry. He will be deeply missed. Hamba kahle Mphephethwa,” said Premier Zikalala
