The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Mr Senzo Mchunu received with great sadness news of the death of former President of India, His Excellency Mr APJ Kalam.
The death was reported on 27 July 2015.
“His deep sense of humility and selfless dedication to his country left an indelible impression. His passing is an irreparable loss” says the Premier.
The Premier further mentioned that, “as the people’s President, the late President APJ Kalam worked tirelessly to better the lives of all Indians. Even after stepping down, he continued to inspire India with a sense of patriotism and single-minded dedication to promoting social and educational advancement”
“We are indeed, deeply saddened by the news of his passing. India has lost a great son”, he said.
He was a great visionary and has inspired many people. India mourns the loss of its great scientist, a wonderful President and an inspiring individual.
May his legacy live on, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
“On behalf of the Provincial Government of KwaZulu-Natal and its people, I express my deep condolences to the bereaved family and the people of India”, said the Premier.
