The Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation wishes to join fellow South Africans in condemning the xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in some parts of the country in the past few weeks.
Chairperson of the Committee, Ms Beauty Dlulane says, “Sport is known to bring social cohesion and is important for nation building. Therefore as a Parliamentary Committee responsible for sport, we are totally against xenophobia. We believe that as South Africans we must together fight xenophobia to create an environment in which everyone from Africa feels welcome.”
The Committee urges all South Africans to unite and stand against xenophobia.
