Witrand Hospital scoops yet another award

Witrand Hospital has been the recipient of yet another national award for excellence at a glittering ceremony of Board of Health Care Funders of Southern Africa (BHF) Titanium Awards ceremony held in Cape Town International Convention Centre yesterday, 27 July 2015.

Witrand Hospital came out tops and scooped the Titanium Award for Hospital Excellence in the Public Sector nationally including entries that were from the Southern African Developing Countries (SADC). Titanium awards seek to recognise and acknowledge excellence in the public and private health care sectors in Southern Africa.

The awards also recognise and honour those delivering superior service to their customers and members and identify leading performers among hospital groups, medical schemes, administrators, managed health care organisations, the pharmaceutical industry, health-care practitioners and the industry at large.

“We are excited about this achievement as a department. It shows that our department is committed to improving the standard of service we offer to our people. We are even more than we continue to perform better compared to some of our counter-parts in the country regardless of the challenges we face", said MEC Dr Magome Masike.

After a thorough process of validation and adjudication the hospital was announced the winner of the award. Speaking after the ceremony, the Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mme Naledi Mocwaledi-Senyane said The achievement of the Hospital is part of the culture that is being practiced on a daily basis of a patient centred approach, were teamwork, dedication and innovation are ingredients that adds up to the success of the hospital.

“It is not due to any individual effort but to the overall effort of all staff in their quest “not win an award” but to strive towards customer satisfaction and service excellence. It is this vision that is the driving force that has enabled us to be pacesetters. Hard work and dedication dividends and we feel a deep sense of corporative pride in our achievement,” said ecstatic Mocwaledi-Senyane.

The BHF Titanium Award is the second national award in less than a month for Witrand Hospital after receiving another award for Best Managed Institution during the South African Medical Association (SAMA) awards which were held weeks ago.

“We are a department with a good track record of excelling because we have a list of non-negotiables that guide our operations. The department will continue to do more to ensure that all our facilities complies and meeting national core standards”, concluded MEC Dr Magome Masike.
