Minister Dean Macpherson announces the inaugural meeting of the public asset management and infrastructure development advisory panel to support growth and jobs drive
The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean Macpherson, has announced that the first meeting of the advisory panel appointed to his office will take place at the beginning of July to support his efforts to drive growth and job creation.
The non-statutory advisory panel on Public Asset Management and Infrastructure Development serves on a voluntary basis and is not remunerated by the state. The panel will provide the Minister with regular advice aimed at delivering on Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) goals.
The Minister congratulated the panel members on their appointment and said he looks forward to working with them in the shared mission to build a better South Africa.
The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean Macpherson, announced that the inaugural meeting of the non-statutory advisory panel to his office will be held in the first week of July 2025. The panel—which focuses on Public Asset Management and Infrastructure Development—follows a commitment the Minister made upon taking office to draw on expertise from both the public and private sectors to assist in reforming the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure. This forms part of his vision to turn South Africa into a construction site and ensure that public assets are used for the public good.
The panel members, who serve at no cost to the state and on a voluntary basis, were appointed through a public call for nominations. The Department received hundreds of applications and conducted an in-depth shortlisting process.
The Public Asset Management and Infrastructure Development Advisory Panel is made up of the following members:
