The over excited School Administrator Mr Padiso Molefe was overjoyed and said that “ these laptops will make my life a lot easier as I can now comply with the new school administration management system that requires us to capture and register all the learners for tracking purposes. This is a necessary tool for this exercise and what is more exciting is that now I can take my work home and able to work at home after hours. I thank MEC Cronjé now my job will be much easier,” he said.
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Finance, Ms Ina Cronjé donated three laptops to S'bongamandla Primary School at KwaMachibisa (Edandale) in Pietermaritzburg this morning.
Addressing learners, parents and educators, Cronjé said that long ago she received a request for computers from the principal but informed him that her department do not have budget to give schools computers but if anything comes up they will always be in her mind. When her department was revamping its old laptops and buying new ones, Cronjé asked for the three used laptops to be donated to the school.
Cronjé said S'bongakonke Primary pupils are special as they are neat and are growing vegetables at school. The way the school is so neat shows that the laptops are in good hands. “My heart becomes very happy when children are well behaved. I appreciate that parents are here during school holidays. We are giving these laptops to this school to appreciate the good work in this school.
In his first public appearance in his new position the Superintendent General for Education, Dr Nkosinathi Sishi appealed to the school to make sure that they take care of the gift from the Provincial Treasury. “I thank the school community, educators and officials from the department for the good work that we see in this school,” he said
The school Principal Mr Mandla Mthethwa (076 679 2558) promised that they will take care of the laptops and also thanked Provincial Treasury and MEC Cronjé for remembering the school.
