The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Willies Mchunu, has welcomed the arrest of two suspects for the killing of Indaka Municipal Manager, in Ladysmith. The suspects were arrested by the provincial taxi violence task team in Ladysmith on Saturday, (8 August 2015). One of them was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm which has been sent for ballistic tests to establish if it has not been used in any other crimes.
The Indaka Municipal Manager, Sinatra Khumalo (53), was murdered last month while travelling in home. Today, (11 August 2015), Mchunu commended the police for arresting the two suspects.
“I welcome the arrests and I am sure that justice will be served. We hope that this development will bring closure to the Khumalo family and indicate to them what really happened to their loved one,” said Mchunu.
