KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Mrs Weziwe Thusi has expressed shock and sadness at the news of the passing on of soccer wizard, Emmanuel "Scara" Ngobese.
Ngobese passed away earlier today after a long illness. MEC Thusi described Ngobese as an outstanding footballer who will be missed in soccer circles.
"The news of the passing on of football genius, Scara Ngobese, is sad indeed. Ngobese was a football genius, an outstanding footballer of our times, who displayed amazing skills and talent on the soccer field.
"It is very sad that he did not live to see the World Cup being played in his own backyard. We were still recovering from the sad news of the passing of another outstanding footballer, Shadrack Biemba and now we have to deal with Scara's death.
"The soccer fraternity will be poorer without Scara. I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Scara Ngobese. May his soul rest in peace," said MEC Thusi.
