Media Alert by the MEC for Finance Nomusa Dube-Ncube promotes public procurement as an instrument to sustain entrepreneurship revolution.

At 10h00 this morning, we started a crucial engagement focusing on public sector procurement. I extend an invitation to the mainstream media and ordinary members of society to follow discussions until this afternoon.

I often point out that we can proclaim today that progress has been made in achieving some of the tenets of the Freedom Charter except two clauses and these being the economy and the land.

We have identified our procurement as a vehicle to transform our economy in view of the fact that Covid-19 pandemic has destroyed out economy resulting in a worse economic downturn.

We committed to ensure that emerging entrepreneurs, the marginalized businesses and those in the informal economy are benefit from the R133 billion Provincial Budget that we have allocated to various government departments and entities.
