The MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal, Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni, MPL, congratulated all the winners in National Teachers Awards (NTA). “It is the first time KZN did so well, we are so proud of all the winners. We are also encouraging other educators to participate in National Teachers Awards,” said the MEC.
The KwaZulu-Natal 2015 National Teachers Awards Results are as follows:
- Position 1 -Lifetime Achievement Category: Mr G Reddy-Glenhaven Secondary School in Pinetown District.
- Grade R Teaching Category: Ms P Schrade – Nyanda Primary in Umgungundlovu District
- The most prestigious Professor Kader Asmal Award Category was won by KwaZulu-Natal teacher Ms Thembisile Mavis Mdlalose- Thembimfundo Special School in Uthungulu District.
- Position 2 -Primary School Teaching: Ms NI Ndlovu-Dukuza Primary School in Uthukela District.
- Mathematics: Ms J Willemse – Shengeza High School in Umkhanyakude.
Each position one received a car.
