The MEC for Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Mothibedi Kegakilwe, has expressed his gratitude for the orderly manner in which all the parties that participated in the election of a new council of Mamusa, conducted themselves during the election that took place yesterday, 15 January 2020.
MEC Kegakilwe is pleased that the elections went smoothly and that the will of the people were expressed through the ballot, which is the only constitutionally enshrined system to assert the will of the people. He commends the work done by institutions that assisted in the smooth running of the elections, such as the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), the South African Police Service (SAPS), different political parties and other stakeholders.
“The Department will work with the newly elected council to restore services to the people of Mamusa’’, he said.
